Christmas Eve Traditions
with the Martins

The Martin family usually gathers on
Christmas Eve at our house to enjoy the festivities and the company of family. It's always cheerful and it warms the heart to share memories with those you love.
Mom unfailingly bakes the traditional Swedish coffee bread made with aromatic cardiman. This year is was baked just right and there was plenty to enjoy and share. There was good coffee and, of course, the Swedish rice which devouered to the very bottom of the dish.

Christmas morning. . . . we spent the morning opening presents around the tree. It was nice to spend some quality time with just us.

Christmas Brunch at the Hockers'

Jayden and Corinne's first breakfast casserole

We opened stockings and then presents under the colorful tree at the Hocker's house.

Yet another tradition related to the Christmas holiday is the scruptuous fondue dinner. It consists of steak and shrimp and cheese and bread and chocolate and carmel along with a dessert platter of pears, apples, bananas, and pound cake topped with coconut and walnuts. This years favorite dessrt combo seemed to be the pound cake and white choc with coconut and nuts. We enjoy and delight until we can't possibly eat another bite. . .and this year was especially nice because I didn't have to go to work after.
